Why do Universities preach green living but are the biggest wasters of water, energy, etc?

Our University has 62% overhead on all government funded programs. It got an F by the energy company for insulation for classrooms that only get used 8 hours a day and many sit vacant. We have approx. 5 acres of turf. Not play areas, landscaping between buildings. We use 72 gallons of water per day per student and we don’t have dorms.
If my uncle runs his business like this, we would not only have no business we would be closed in a month.
Plus, my teacher wants to pass cap and trade. Does he know that it will raise the cost of teaching because his University is a big fat pig? He has no clue or wants to spend or wants to bring down the institutions and businesses of our country. I am going to be very vocal tomorrow.
Thanks Buying. You have inspired me to sabotage the irrigation system. Actually, I would want them to post monthly bills.
Kevin. Why do you think I’m conservative? Is it the word business?
Our business is clearly Green, meaning it saves money wherever it can! Operates on low overhead, albeit not as nive looking as the college.
